Metal, socially unacceptable for its views?

August 26th, 2007 by death

I argue that metal is not acceptable for its views. It is masculine, assertive, and warlike. It does not toe the line of liberalized ideology, which comprises both conservative and liberal parties at this time. It does not use an accepted structure for controllable mainstream music. It does not attempt to distract.

Like Al-Jazeera, it’s a war call. And they don’t like that. Control is how we make money. Control is how we force other people to be our wives, friends, neighbors. Control is usurped by the independent, holistic-moral warrior. – metal forum

I think he’s onto something. Metal doesn’t have political views, but it has ideological life values that conflict with modern society. This caught my eye this morning. And my name is death, and this is my death and black metal blog. Drop me a line if you get curious about anything here.

Death metal and black metal

August 26th, 2007 by death

This blog is intended to be about death metal and black metal, or the best of the underground metal movement. It is for people who want more than what society offers, especially in the intangibles, like experience and art and appreciation. It is written by a contributing author to the dark legions archive, and a longtime fan of extreme metal music of the underground variety.
For the purposes of this blog, death metal will be defined as the structuralist movement in underground metal based on the rhythm of phrases, and the symbolic development of their juxtaposition in sequences, or motifs. Black metal will be defined as death metal with a melodic basis, using a more ambient system of rhythm to support that phrasal-melodic narrative style. This is the music I love and the culture I defend, and maybe after some reading, you will see this as important, too.
