A la frontière des années 80/90, le pressage de vinyles 45T en 7″ était souvent le passage obligatoire pour décrocher un contrat pour un full lenght. De nombreux labels tels Relapse, Cenotaph, Thrash, Skill Drill, Baphomet ou Seraphic Decay étaient alors de fins spécialistes dans le domaine. Si la plupart des titres de ces 45T ont été réengistrés par les groupes sur leurs full lenght suivants, d’autres morceaux sont restés uniquement disponibles sous ce format.
