Baltic Metal division is getting more known.I appreciate my colleagues who helped me a lot to be here in this form.In order to show these great  men to the world,I created www.myspace.com/balticmetaldivision profile. In parallel of that I`m working on Middle East Metal support program. But having blog name metal-blogs/nameise I`m surely driving people in misunderstanding. It`s not my passport I`m promoting, but great defenders of their faith – Metalheads. So,from now adress of this blog is:

Due to promotional reasons towarded to Baltic Metal division, new blog name in myspace & other media could be found through this name until midsummer.Sorry, all in all name comes after actions.

COLDFLAME

Indescribable, but thought out Metal. Very good is that fact that lady on the vocals is Metalhead with unspoiled conciseness about self. Of course, main time of the performance in centre of attention was in super mini skirt dressed lady with awesome  vocals, but luckily, she doesn`t have Tarja`s syndrome, and we heard Latvian Steve Vai solo and good drum session. You can listen them @ http://www.coldflame.times.lv/dziesmas.htm

GASERATA

They know how to shock. Every new theme in this slow-tempo melody starts just as shout from the gun. I don`t know about musicians` nerves, but listeners` nerves are tighten  well.

Long slow-tempo in blink of an eye turns into the explosion, waking up the deads .And heavily distorted, slow melody makes from silent&passive&cultural  metalhead true mosher and from pioneer mosher amazed kid. They are so young (as band and as musicians` age),but already can pull listeners` nerves and touch hearts. Good!

MALA

Well, they are too young in both meanings too, but it can be seen and heard. In their performance was Metal, but while hearing them I got sense, that they do not know yet who they are, and what they want to play, music was raw & undone. And why they needed specifical  instrument violin, if it got lost in already without it chaotic music?

O.K. allright, everybody was teenager and was searcher. They`re not bad, but when they`ll decide upon one definite way of playing (I`m not speaking about playing in definite genre borders, but about simple sistemacy), they could claim for more respect.

First of two tracks is already legendary song, reminding of historical day – Baltic Way…

“Dear mother, parted & crossed…dies & reborns.”

This song fully expresses feelings of that time.”Let the faith decide for what we pray to you God. Your time will come – Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania – freedom. Freedom to Baltics!”

I was kid, when one my hand was in grandma  hand, but other hand – in hand of Estonian girl in border between yet Soviet Union`s Latvia & Estonia. And what we have now? Tourists peeing on the Freedom monument.

Although second song is awesome, Dio of 80ties reminding neckwreck with proper heavy metal distortion & riffs, it loses  attention to  it, because mind keeps on singing – freedom to the Baltics!

“We,as metal people, feel very bored wearing Morbid Angel shirts, sunglasses and make a cool face into the camera. This isn`t what we want to do” K.Farhi about Orphaned Land`s “The nevending way of orwarrior”

I suppose, that we should end being terrorists in our homeland…

Pardon me in my incompetence in classical music, but starting melody reminded me J.S.Bach.

If “Statical” was just technical – death metal, then “Cryophobia” is technical – brutal death metal.Although between technicality & brutality lurks melody,it sounds very raw & supernatural.More raw here is everything, including vocals, what sometimes becomes a screaming growl.

I like that guys didn`t lose their skilfull technicality, but became more heavier, riffs became more mean – more neckwrecking.

I must say thanks for high quality live recording, what made sense of being in real gig.

So,if “Statical” was death in technical way, then “Cryophobia” is technical death in brutal way.Creative growth obvious. What will be next time?

Astronomically weird, but f****ly interesting.Black metal vocals + death`n`roll. It would be less f***ly interesting if all these components would be somewhere incomplete, but it`s not.

Amazing death metal riffs with rock`n`roll twist and black metal top.Just…”ride on the mountain side”…I understand that I & Immortal is driven by the same Abbath (one cue to respect I),but is there a possibility to act in several bands and not to influence each other with each other, ever?Yup,tough question.

It`s widespread fact that one sideproject of leader of some legendary band is respected just for being shadow of this man`s work, but factually, all is the same.

Well,it`s NOT with Immortal & I.Here are totally different sounds, deserved to be legendary separated. Here is pretty fast & strong beat,thought-out passages with professional black metal vocals, and distortion caught up in between hard rock and death metal. And neither musical performance, neither vocals strive for domination. They are like flowing river into the sea,and the river-sea vacations skilfully are changing in wright moments.

Thanks,mr Abbath,I reniewed my point of view on black, sorry, black`n`roll. It`s f***ly geat Metal, whatever it is called.
