Banner Of Wrath - Through A Decade Of Wrath

The Munich Banners Of Wrath already pleased me on their demo “MK1″, which before no less than 7 years appeared and is limited on 333 pieces, quite well. Now me you are present here in self-direction debut “Through A Decade OF Wrath” developed. Here beside the Songs of demo 7 new TRACKS were published. Who does not even received thus no demo has must be so sad, even if a collectors item(delivered with Guitar Plectrum)and the first arrangement of the 4 pieces. But these were again brought in not simply only of demo taken over to separate and partly equipped with other singing. That lasted the publication of the debut so for a long time is probable mainly because of it that the volume with Line Up problems to fight again and again had. More to it can you on the homepage that Band read corresponding was pleased I than I from the publication and me immediately to the work made read me the part orders. The Band has me give a copy even as Promo, speaks for nothing, which I take into account them highly. But now to the music. To hear we get Dark Metal with Black Death Metal impact. The whole sounds rather independent. That was demo nevertheless rather Black Metal touch and sounded partly like many other volume one nevertheless clearly increased also in such a way and tries a whole banners own note to give. This does not succeed always, but with the mass volume those today the market flood are simple the also not straight on. As previously mentioned the demos were processed also on the Long more player. After one Sunny for the femalen Vocals and violin also on board has became her naturally also during the new bringing of the Songs with merged and in such a way also their voice was merged into the demos “Cursed” and “To The End” at that time with. In Songs like “Banner Of Wrath” or “Gone” pleases the guitar work very well and easily smoke singing of Bluhm knows to convince here. Here give strong footsteps in the back and also impact workers Septembers delivers a tidy job. Or “Ambush”, also more beautifully in the midtempo more held, with calm intermediate play more provided, Dark Metal Attack. In addition, with “Cursed” or “To The End” are represented “calmer” number, which are enriched by Sunny with the singing and partly also into the Gothic corner would fit. “Red Wine” however does not want at all in the album to fit. This scarcely instrument valley long over 4 min(I means to have heard something whispering voice in the background???) flows completely simply and calmly there it. That fits rather Goethes Erben as to Banner Of Wrath, which Track should have omitted her. Up to this Song there is however no real loss on the album. The only real deficiency is the cleane male singing of which too often beside the trace lies. On it must be worked. Otherwise the disk is varied and processes the different kinds of play quite well. With the Opener “Stronghold” is to be constituted even a trace Doom.
Result: The debut succeeded to the natives of Munich quite well and also, for an own production, rather well produced and was merged. The entrance of Sunny did volume to that well, because the violin and also its singing(very beautifully) insert themselves rather well into the Banner music. These two components contributed a not insignificant part surely to the independent sound. If at mentioned weak point still something is filed and the small unevenness is still somewhat eliminated, then with the next long iron guaranteed still one is above set whereupon. Dark Metal of friends should risk times an ear, in addition, all Gothic and Black Metal fans, who should not only prefer the female Vocals and or only the raw kind of play clean hear here. 6,5/10 Points

Undead Funeral - T.O.D. (Trinty Of Death)

Undead Funeral are a Munich band with a successful mix of black, Death and Thrash Metal . The band was only in spring 2005 founded and it is therefore all the more surprising as mature and powerful all already across. This is definitely in a higher league than the Underground played and the overall result is, for a self production, pretty good. That this band does not label deal has surprised me a little. I have seen bands with a large label on the back includes the guys here is not enough water. Sure, the three protagonists invent the metal is not new, why, but the songs make the genre all honor. There is a lot of double bass work, which I personally like. The songs go directly to the front powerful and kick your ass. The music also provides some of perfect is a weak point, but who wants from the first LP already demanding perfection, and also makes a little more authenticity.

After a short intro “Ceromony Funeral”, which initiate the plate well, bangs us, “Frozen Winter Forest”. This shows us immediately where the guys want out. Namely, without compromising directly to the target, hard, fast and dark deliver music, and thus enrich the metal community. They lose, but none of the variable side road from the eye and walk away with the next track “Blood of a Virgin” something to shallower works. Although relatively shallower course can be seen here since missing the rapid fire attacks not. This song is one of the highlights on the album, and with 6:15 min also the longest. The next piece of “Field of the Crows” know to please. Even the intro of the piece creates a dark atmosphere, and then as the music and Sacerdos’ singing you will use a powerful blow to driving. This piece is slow and has therefore almost a doom touch itself. Even the title song “Trinity Of Death” is a very good piece, even if the female singing partner not quite fit. But it is certainly a matter of taste. The last track of the album “Silent Funreal” has a funny introduction, we hear someone like a grave scoops, and then oppressive and drifting in good mid.

Conclusion: Undead Funeral deliver with “Trinity Of Death” a decent debut album itself, which is not hiding. Here is genre usal played and also secure a cliché or other uses. Everything is relative variation range. There is a simple easy track but also with corners and edges. The potential of the band is definitely evident. The instruments are perfectly acceptable, and the singing of Sacerdos know from variability to please. He can deep grunt or scream but also in higher climes it is the other cry, almost in the direction of Dani Filth is going on. For this production give I own, without a bad conscience, 8.5 / 10 points

For the female vocal parts are responsible Tecaya of Kraden and Gaby Kross (ex Haggard).

Order can the CD on the band’s Page on the contact formular. Euro 10 + shipping what this part also definitely worth it. There is a glossy booklet with lyric and information you need.

Todtgelichter - Schemen

The Band from Hamburg Todtgelichter which already familiar with its review two years ago released disc “Was bleibt” for us are represented, have now already the third plant at the start. “Schemen” is a black metal album, which is “normal” Underground apart, and not just rattling by the boxing comes to the most “undergound” sound. No, Todtgelichter create anthems yet brachiale songs, which is a scary dark atmosphere and can produce bands like Drautran or Farsot in tranches nothing. The brachial force goes to work and you the skin, German, plays the only way to the ears. Here is the raw black metal with Pagan celebrated impact, as some scene sizes have already lost to play. Songs like “Larva,” “Blutstern” or “Für immer schweigen” which are so cool you just want more. Very nice is also “Beginn des Endes”, an atmospheric track (and absolutely fitting conclusion of the disc), but the brutality of the band suggests, and with a clean woman’s voice is integrated. We will not reveal who the good. Todtgelichter do the scene well and sound, despite the commonalities with other bands in the scene, independent, as they are afraid it will not even get a saxophone use, “Aschentraum.”
Even at the political level the guys and have a clear position on its website a statement. They say they are clearly against the NSBM, but also against the Left weak heads, and bring their non-political attitude clear. That should actually a lot more bands, because then those idiots not to funnel these bands for themselves to abuse.

Result: “Schemen” is a good album with which the hamburgers black cloaks in the Black - and Pagan Metal establish world. There is no “overproduced” album à la Dimmu Borgir but Raw BM anymore. Keep up the good work, which is what we need! For Black Metal compulsory purchase!

von Branden “Scherben”

Von Branden give us with they first full lenght album “Scherben” a cold and darkest work. If I have to describe a movie, I would say it is a drama. If you hear the CD more than one only (what is for this Album compulsory, then you can’t all discover what is the facination if you hear only one)then will determine that the music is good for a soundtrack for a drama. As metal the whole is hard to discribe. Here although come before metal guitars riffs but the silent parts with cello, piano and saxophone dominate the cd. If I must to define a genre then I have to invent new one. This album has only not progressive character but also black metal and classic or rock and pop. So is the oppener “Behind The Rain” a atmospheric(but not to be confused with boombast) black metal song with cello. The titel track “Scherben” however is a silent piece with beautiful sad and dark sounds. Here creates the saxophone a mood of you can not escape. In the place „…geben, nehmen, du und ich…ich bin dein Schatten du mein Licht…“ reminds the voice a little to Joachim Witt. If the singer the completely song had sung with this voice I liked even better. Nevertheless is the song a highlight to the album.
Or „Bitter Lies In Pure Dismay“, this is a short piece instrumental which on the end a electronically changing voice has. The leadership of the melody remembers something to Placebo and the piece can taken good and gladly as a transition to the next act of a theatre pieces. My favorit on the cd is „Zwischen Welten“, this track has a beautiful guitar wall and the voice has a many nice sound. To end give us von Branden still a surprise with a Tori Amos Cover „Winter“, this is the band managed well and fits perfectly into the album.

Conclusion: Von Branden give us an album to discover what it is. Each the here risked an ear, saying: don’t hear only but explore. Here was, in my opinion, much emphasis on atmosphere and mood laid and a bleak and cold work manufactured. “Solarian von Branden” describes the way: “von Branden are (for us) deep, pure emotion in the musical form. If words are no longer sufficient to thoughts and emotions to convey, we embed them in music“. I think it is very good expressed. 7,5/10 Points

Nonpoint - To The Pain

After Nonpoint in the united states already ranks among the starters, they would like to become this now also with its current output “To The Pain”, which in America already 2005 appeared, with us. Those was created Band 1998 in Fort Lauderdale (Florida) and is already created that over 500.000 albums set off already could and a large fan basis. Not least by extensive routes by the USA, among other things with Linkin Park, Mudvayne and Disturbed. Even for the Miami Vice film was engaged you. Accordingly strained I was then on what expected me on available album. In order to take it directly in front, I one did not disappoint. The US Boys pleases on first attempt, and that, although I am not a straight fan of Nu Metal. Equal the Oppener “Bullet With A Name”, whatever became the first single of the album, rock on efficiently loosely and shows you immediately where those young wants. The whole album is variedly held and works as from a casting. The guitars and the singing dominate the whole disk, can the other instruments however sufficient place be unfolded. The singing is very variable and comes nevertheless always aggressively enough more over the category to become fair. The volume steps efficiently in all who all this, does not forget it however not the listener also times briefly breather to leave. They serve no plates and do not shrink from themselves of not elements from other musical ranges to use, then one hears in the loosely “Explain Yourself” brass, that gives a completely special note to the Song. Also the play time of over 70 min is an absolute plus of the disk, and who at the end of the 14 Songs still applies little patience, and the part not directly from the Player throws, which still with a Hidden TRACK of 16 min recompenced. The Band has to wave off definitely things also with us and actually surprises it that it it not already rather over the pond into the “old person world” to have created. No(n)point get 8/10 Points from me.

Pinchbeck - Nine Point Circuit

The Danish Prog protagonists have been almost 10 years live in the Danish clubs and festivals on the go, but so far have only a Promo Cd “Overflow” (2001). Here is her first studio work “nine point circuit”, which is still without a label on the back was produced and published. Even there the Force influences with their tool, Alice In Chains, ISIS, Black Sabbath or Solaris, Hellblazer and Red Army Choir.
When the album then repeatedly by the skilful player has diverse influences can actually discover. Above all, the bass line is what Sabbath-like itself, and when the song structures, then there is certainly the love of tool to recognize. And if “The Passage” (the beginning) typing results will be even reminiscent of Metallica. Despite the wide range of influences, the boys avoid any of these bands, however, to copy. The album is a concept disc which is the story of a man who told the world in an intermediate, and on a journey over nine stages to himself moves. Each song describes one of these phases.
The songs are catchy but not exactly when something with the album deals get relatively quick access to the material. Here is a mixture of progressive metal and alternative rock / metal played. For the most part, the songs kept rather quiet, and the singing is in accordance with a clear and “sublime”. A little more emotion same but could very well do so. Too often, he still listens to “flatly”.
Result: The Danes on the album make a good, if not outstanding job. For a debut, the fine, but if you consider how long they had already been making music a little more may come.
