Undead Funeral are a Munich band with a successful mix of black, Death and Thrash Metal . The band was only in spring 2005 founded and it is therefore all the more surprising as mature and powerful all already across. This is definitely in a higher league than the Underground played and the overall result is, for a self production, pretty good. That this band does not label deal has surprised me a little. I have seen bands with a large label on the back includes the guys here is not enough water. Sure, the three protagonists invent the metal is not new, why, but the songs make the genre all honor. There is a lot of double bass work, which I personally like. The songs go directly to the front powerful and kick your ass. The music also provides some of perfect is a weak point, but who wants from the first LP already demanding perfection, and also makes a little more authenticity.

After a short intro “Ceromony Funeral”, which initiate the plate well, bangs us, “Frozen Winter Forest”. This shows us immediately where the guys want out. Conclusion: Undead Funeral deliver with “Trinity Of Death” a decent debut album itself, which is not hiding. Here is genre usal played and also secure a cliché or other uses. Everything is relative variation range. There is a simple easy track but also with corners and edges. The potential of the band is definitely evident. The instruments are perfectly acceptable, and the singing of Sacerdos know from variability to please. He can deep grunt or scream but also in higher climes it is the other cry, almost in the direction of Dani Filth is going on. The Band from Hamburg Todtgelichter which already familiar with its review two years ago released disc “Was bleibt” for us are represented, have now already the third plant at the start. “Schemen” is a black metal album, which is “normal” Underground apart, and not just rattling by the boxing comes to the most “undergound” sound. No, Todtgelichter create anthems yet brachiale songs, which is a scary dark atmosphere and can produce bands like Drautran or Farsot in tranches nothing. The brachial force goes to work and you the skin, German, plays the only way to the ears. Here is the raw black metal with Pagan celebrated impact, as some scene sizes have already lost to play. Songs like “Larva,” “Blutstern” or “Für immer schweigen” which are so cool you just want more. Very nice is also “Beginn des Endes”, an atmospheric track (and absolutely fitting conclusion of the disc), but the brutality of the band suggests, and with a clean woman’s voice is integrated. We will not reveal who the good. Todtgelichter do the scene well and sound, despite the commonalities with other bands in the scene, independent, as they are afraid it will not even get a saxophone use, “Aschentraum.”
Even at the political level the guys and have a clear position on its website a statement. They say they are clearly against the NSBM, but also against the Left weak heads, and bring their non-political attitude clear. That should actually a lot more bands, because then those idiots not to funnel these bands for themselves to abuse.

Result: “Schemen” is a good album with which the hamburgers black cloaks in the Black - and Pagan Metal establish world. There is no “overproduced” album à la Dimmu Borgir but Raw BM anymore. Keep up the good work, which is what we need! For Black Metal compulsory purchase!

Von Branden give us with they first full lenght album “Scherben” a cold and darkest work. If I have to describe a movie, I would say it is a drama. If you hear the CD more than one only (what is for this Album compulsory, then you can’t all discover what is the facination if you hear only one)then will determine that the music is good for a soundtrack for a drama. As metal the whole is hard to discribe. Here although come before metal guitars riffs but the silent parts with cello, piano and saxophone dominate the cd. If I must to define a genre then I have to invent new one. This album has only not progressive character but also black metal and classic or rock and pop. So is the oppener “Behind The Rain” a atmospheric(but not to be confused with boombast) black metal song with cello. The titel track “Scherben” however is a silent piece with beautiful sad and dark sounds. Here creates the saxophone a mood of you can not escape. In the place „…geben, nehmen, du und ich…ich bin dein Schatten du mein Licht…“ reminds the voice a little to Joachim Witt. If the singer the completely song had sung with this voice I liked even better. Nevertheless is the song a highlight to the album.
Or „Bitter Lies In Pure Dismay“, this is a short piece instrumental which on the end a electronically changing voice has. The leadership of the melody remembers something to Placebo and the piece can taken good and gladly as a transition to the next act of a theatre pieces. My favorit on the cd is „Zwischen Welten“, this track has a beautiful guitar wall and the voice has a many nice sound. To end give us von Branden still a surprise with a Tori Amos Cover „Winter“, this is the band managed well and fits perfectly into the album.

Conclusion: Von Branden give us an album to discover what it is. Each the here risked an ear, saying: don’t hear only but explore. Here was, in my opinion, much emphasis on atmosphere and mood laid and a bleak and cold work manufactured. “Solarian von Branden” describes the way: “von Branden are (for us) deep, pure emotion in the musical form. If words are no longer sufficient to thoughts and emotions to convey, we embed them in music“. I think it is very good expressed. 7,5/10 Points
