The Last Stand

Sortie le 19 août 2016

Swedish Heavy Metal heroes SABATON are currently working on their new studio album, entitled »The Last Stand«, which is going to be released worldwide on August 19th through Nuclear Blast.

“We once work again with Peter Tägtgren in his newly upgraded and top class Abyss studio in Sweden to record, produce and mix the album. The mastering will be done by Jonas Kjellgren who also works in the same building in nice Pärlby on the countryside of Sweden. Both »Carolus Rex« and »Heroes« was done in the same way and we feel very comfortable to return to the same place and people again. Fans will recognize the sound of the album as SABATON, but we really feel we took it a step forward this time”, says Pär Sundström.

The artwork on the album is made by Peter Sallaí who has been with SABATON since »Carolus Rex«. Pär Sundström explains: “We had the idea to make an image reflecting soldiers of different times representing the different historical battles we sing about on the new album. This only reveals a small part of the album topics though“.

“The concept of a last stand has always fascinated me, and both me and Pär were ”all in excited” about the subject so it was an easy choice to make”, says vocalist Joakim Broden about the album title »The Last Stand«. We have always several ideas for albums to work with. Since there are countless different views and angles of war, we will unfortunately never run out of ideas. We kinda felt that the last stand was something perfect for SABATON. Something we really wanted to do. »Heroes« was a perfect theme and »The Last Stand« is right down our alley too. It was exciting to do the research”, adds Sundstöm.

Few more weeks until the final work is done. But everyone in the SABATON camp is more than satisfied. Joakim Broden sums it up: “Did any other artist ever say ”Our new album is the best we ever made”? That’s not for us to decide, that’s up to our fans…”

THE DEAD DAISIES « Make Some Noise » Nouvel album

THE DEAD DAISIES « Make Some Noise » Nouvel album

Digipak, double vinyle rouge + CD & digital

Liste des titres : Long Way To Go * We All Fall Down * Song And A Prayer * Mainline * Make Some Noise * Fortunate Son * Last Time I Saw The Sun * Mine All Mine * How Does It Feel * Freedom * All The Same * Join Together

Spinefarm Records are aware that free and wild cult leaders, Electric Wizard, are working on their ninth studio album, with delivery expected in time for a Halloween 2016 release.

This is all the information available. The whereabouts of the band and the recording / mixing details are not currently known, but more news should follow in due course…

This new offering will be the follow-up to 2014’s ‘Time to Die’ – which can be purchased here – and will be the second release on the band’s ‘Witchfinder Records’ imprint, the result of a worldwide deal with SpinefarmRecords.

Time to Die’ effectively closed the lid on a particular part of the band’s career, and this new album will represent a fresh turn of the turf…

Until that time, get your fix of pure evil at one of these live performances:-

12/07/16 – Download, Castle Donington, UK

28/07/16 – Metal Days, Tolmin, Slovenia

13/08/16 – Brutal Assault, Czech Republic

26/08/16 – Psycho Las Vegas, Las Vegas, US

01/10/16 – Z7, Basel, Switzerland

EW recently headlined ‘Desertfest’ in both Berlin and London, finishing off the festivals (and the attendees’ ear drums) with the sort of performances that have made them the true gate-keepers of UK metal’s great & glorious traditions.

Featuring ten tracks that marry the scratchy yet catchy, swaggering, and dangerous sounds of The Stooges, Blondie, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs with the playfulness, pop sensibility, and exuberance of the finest 90s alt-rock, Mother Feather is the combination of the band’s two independently released recordings – 2011’s Mother Feather EP and 2013’s Living Breathing EP – plus two new songs, “Natural Disaster” and “The Power.” For their efforts, the group has garnered massive buzz for their unique brand of rock, vibrant Bowie-esque costumes and makeup, and enthralling live show. Having previously been featured on,, and (who declared them as “a great New York City band in the tradition of Great New York City Bands”), Mother Featherwas also recently named “new band of the week” by Metal Hammer, and has received much play on Daniel P. Carter’s Rock Show on BBC Radio 1. Of the new record, lead singer Ann Courtney says, “I want to make the kind of music that makes hearts explode. The feeling when you’re fifteen and you want to hear that song on repeat turned up as loud as the stereo will go and sing at the top of your lungs and thrash around your bedroom. I don’t want to put any music into the world that isn’t going to save someone – mostly me.”
